Linda Pickett has spent the past 40 years working with children and adolescents as a music therapist, special educator, leadership educator, leadership camp staff, and student council adviser. She led her council to achieve national recognition and she has been recognized as the 2015 National High School Warren E Shull Adviser of the Year and the recipient of the 2019 Illinois Hank Clark Memorial Award for her contributions to the development of her student council and leadership of students throughout the state of Illinois. Under her guidance, programs have been implemented to improve school climate, promote service learning and produce inclusive environments. She has also developed leadership curriculum that has developed self-awareness, self-confidence, personal values, problem solving and other components necessary to become a strong leader. Linda has led workshops on the district, state and national levels sharing her passion to prepare students for the future through leadership development and positive behaviors.
